Born in the tiny town of Hoxie, Kansas, Doug Weber grew up in Topeka and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan. A scholarship athlete, he was captain of the men's cross country and track and field teams, and was a world ranked distance runner. He continues to hold a school record in one event. Phoenix' excellent year-round training weather was one of the reasons he chose to relocate to Arizona and attend Arizona State University College of Law.
